Electric Vehicle Programs
New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program incentivizes electric vehicle adoption through programs that offset the cost of electric vehicles and at-home electric vehicle charging infrastructure. By shifting away from gasoline and diesel use, EVs create many environmental and economic benefits, including saving thousands in operation and maintenance costs, including less air pollution and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
Electric Vehicles
Charge Up New Jersey promotes clean vehicle adoption in the state by offering incentives for the purchase or lease of a new, eligible battery electric vehicle (EV) or the purchase of an eligible EV charger.

Solar Programs for Renters
New Jersey continues to advance its clean energy goals through a range of active solar programs. These programs support the development of solar projects across the state – from residential and commercial installations to community solar and grid supply projects.
The Community Solar Energy Program was designed for renters and other utility customers who may be unable to install their own solar panels. Renters can participate in solar by subscribing to a community solar facility. These are large projects often sited on commercial rooftops and landfills, and project owners may offer subscriptions to households that include guaranteed bill credit discounts for the electricity generated on the subscriber’s behalf. Find out more about community solar below.
Community solar projects enable greater access to solar energy. Electric utility customers who have previously been unable to go solar, due to a variety of factors including cost, unsuitable roof, or lack of roof control, can now access this renewable energy.
