LGEA - Repeat Participation Creates Deeper Savings

Keeping facilities running is a critical component of any township,
but maintenance and upgrades often come at the cost of something
else in the budget.
However, after seeing how the Local Government Energy Audit (LGEA) helped update an initial facility, Monroe Township in Middlesex County reenrolled in the program for the rest of their facilities.
Key Highlights
- $492,000 Annual Energy Cost Savings
- 5,000,000 lbs. of CO2 emissions reduced
- Lowered operations and maintenance costs without community and taxpayer impact
Participation was easy and allowed us to make upgrades across the Township—something that would have taken years to complete without LGEA and ESIP.
About the Program
The Local Government Energy Audit (LGEA) Programprovides free energy audits to municipal customers. It is the first step to participate in the state’s Energy Savings Improvement Program (ESIP), which provides a “budget neutral” approach for implementing the improvements identified in the audit.
